Central Kentucky Tours is offering an afternoon bourbon tour for those golfers enjoying a stay at Brightleaf Resort. After you have finished your morning golfing round, let us guide you to some of the finest bourbon distilleries in the Bluegrass. For any group of 8 or more, we offer two equally enjoyable options that are available Monday through Wednesday.

The first would be a trip to Loretto, Kentucky that would include a stop at Limestone Branch Distillery for a tasting and then on to Makers Mark Distillery for a tour and tasting. Limestone Branch is a craft distillery that is aging bourbon and whiskey at present but is also distilling flavored moonshine and is home of the famous “Moonpie Moonshine”. Makers Mark Distillery is the producer of the world famous Makers Mark Bourbon and the distillery is a National Historic Landmark.

The second option would be a trip to Lawrenceburg, Kentucky with the first stop at Four Roses Distillery for a tour and tasting and then a visit to Wild Turkey Distillery for shopping. Four Roses Distillery has won the honor of “Distillery of the Year” four out of the last five years and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Wild Turkey Distillery’s Master Distiller is Jimmy Russell who has been at the distillery since 1954 and still is guiding the production of some of the finest bourbon in the world.

Both options will begin at Brightleaf with pick up at 1:15p.m. with the return around 5 p.m.
